Japanese car maker Nissan has launched its new Serena S-Hybrid minivan in the country.
The new S-Hybrid is powered by a hybrid system featuring upgraded ECO motor which serves as a back-up motor to improve the power output and power generation capabilities of the minivan.
Featuring a sub battery for increased energy storage capacity, the new 2WD hybrid will offer a fuel economy of 15.2km/L in JC08 mode.
Nissan has also unveiled new features for the non hybrid versions of Serena which include standard Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) 3-point seatbelts, new tires and the One-Touch Auto Slide Door function for the sliding door on the left side of the vehicle.
According to Nissan the new hybrid is on sale at a price range of JPY2,384,550 ($30,372) to JPY2,799,300 ($35,654), while the non-hybrid grades are offered in the price range of JPY2,163,000 ($27,550)to JPY2,832,900($36,082).
