The Tire Industry Association announced another class on the 17-city Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor Tour in Sarasota, Fla., at Sarasota County Technical Institute, Oct. 1-4, 2013.
The four-day class will provide in-depth instruction on a number of topics related to the servicing of passenger and light truck tires. Topics include:
vehicle lifting; lug nut torque procedures; demounting, mounting and inflation guidelines; balance techniques; tire repair procedures; tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) identification; TPMS sensor service; TPMS relearn procedures (domestic and import); and TPMS diagnostics
The Certified ATS Instructor class is a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction. It covers all of the industry guidelines from TIA, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute and the Tire and Rim Association.
Remaining dates for the 2013 tour include:
Oct. 1-4 – Sarasota, Fla.
Nov. 12-15 - Jacksonville, Fla.
Nov. 12-15 – Houston
Following the training and successful completion of the Final Exam, students are recognized as TIA Certified ATS Instructors which gives them the credentials to return to the dealership to train and certify technicians.
