Bottling Plant Is Purchased by Alkaline Water in North Carolina

The Alkaline Water has signed a letter of intent (LoI) to acquire the North Cove Bottling plant located on 5.4 acres of land in Marion, North Carolina.

According to Alkaline Water, the transaction would bring calculated logistical advantage to the company due to plant's strategic location and production capacity.

The bottling plant has a production capacity of 150 bottles per minute of the company's three-liter and one gallon products, and more than 600 bottles per minute of the smaller PET water products.

Alkaline Water president Steven Nickolas said the plant's acquisition would enable the company to meet the growing demands of its products in the eastern US and also to expand nationally.

"When running at full capacity, the plant could produce over 180,000 gallons of alkaline water per day," Nickolas added.

Said to be designed for high speed manufacturing, the plant serves customers such as Wal-Mart, Costco and Target across the Eastern US.

Alkaline Water expects that the plant could start production as early as the fourth quarter of 2013.
