The Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom has announced that in the January-May period of this year Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises saw their pre-tax losses increase by 2.9 times year on year, rising from UAH 4.47 billion in January-May 2013 to UAH 12.76 billion ($1.07 billion), despite the rise in the metallurgical enterprises' overall net income by 14.2 percent year on year to UAH 67.3 billion ($5.643 billion).
