Novelis Inc. completed its US$200 million expansion to its aluminum manufacturing plant in Oswego this week.
The expansion added 240,000 tons of capacity to produce aluminum auto sheet for Novelis and added more than 100 jobs at the plant.
It is reported that the factory has added 182,000 square feet of space to its existing 1.4 million square feet.
A company executive of Novelis has reportedly said that the company plans to start construction on a 81,000 square foot facility for aluminum scrap recycling from auto makers.
Novelis is the world's largest producer of aluminum auto sheet which also have production facilities in Canada, Switzerland and Germany.
