Japanese car maker Nissan has unveiled a new 2013 model Pathfinder SUV in Detroit, US.
The new Pathfinder will be 500 pounds lighter than the 2012 versions and will deliver 30% fuel improvement.
Pathfinder SUV is equipped with 3.5 litre V6 engine of 260hp mated to Nissan's Xtronic continuously variable transmission offered with 2WD, 4WD and Auto mode options to offer 6,400 rpm and 240 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm.
The front wheel drive model is designed to offer fuel efficiency of 20 mpg in city, 26 mpg in highways and 22 mpg on a combined mode.
The four wheel drive offers an increased fuel economy of 19 mpg in city, 25 mpg in highways and 21 mpg on a combined mode.
The upper body features an open cabin with a low beltline and thin A- and D-pillars while interior design features seating as well as materials and advanced technology.
Other amenities include programmable Nissan Intelligent Key, Nissan Navigation System, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Dual-Zone Climate Control, RearView Monitor, remote engine start and tri-zone entertainment system.
The base model of the SUV will be available with a price of $28,000 when it goes on sale in the US later this fall.
