UK-based API Laminates has commissioned a new module on Laminator 4 production line at its production plant in Poynton, England to ramp up Transmet laminate production capacity.
API's Transmet offers print-receptive coating in a bright metallic finish for paperboard products.
This film-free laminate can be used for all commonly used printing technologies, thereby providing on-shelf impact to different products, the company said.
API president and CEO Dino Kiriakopoulos said: "API has a track record of continuous investment in our capabilities to ensure we continue to offer the best products, quality and service to our customers.
"Our Transmet product has been recognized as the market leader in Europe and its film free finish provides brand owners with a fully recyclable material."
API said that its Laminator 4 ensures Transmet laminates are manufactured to exceptionally high tolerance, which is required for print registration.
This line also produces laminate finishes including Transmet holographic which enables brands to select the laminate style and effect for their product's packaging.
API chief commercial officer Will Oldham said: "API offers a wealth of products and services to companies worldwide to enhance and protect their brands.
"The investment across all our foil, laminate and holographic sites ensures we can provide brand owners and printer converters with a complete range of solutions together with the service levels they demand and deserve."
