Sealed Air has introduced a new protective packaging solution, the PakNatural Biodegradable Cushion Bag for cushioning and void-fill shipping applications.
Expected to meet sustainability requirements for performance and environmental responsibility, the bag retains the non-abrasive properties of the company's PakNatural loose fill solution, making it suitable for protecting electronics, books, glass items and collectibles.
Sealed Air sales development manager for PakNatural Mark Bourke said all elements of the cushion bag are renewable, biodegradable and compostable.
"It's another great example of Sealed Air's SmartLife commitment to sustainability through efficient packaging solutions that provide product protection while reducing costs and environmental impact through the entire supply chain," Bourke said.
The PakNatural Biodegradable Cushion Bag is available in three different sizes, and can be considered for operations that need biodegradable and compostable materials as well as self-contained packaging solutions.
As no equipment is necessary with the new bag, customers can incorporate the solution directly into centralized or decentralized packaging operations.
Three international organizations, The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), the German certification organization DIN CERTCO and the Belgium-based testing and research organization Vincotte have certified the bag as biodegradable and compostable.
