Buona Vita,an establishment based in New Jersey,US,is recalling approximately 324,770 pounds of various frozen,ready-to-eat meat and poultry products nationwide due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service(FSIS),the packages bear the establishment number P-954 or Est.954 inside the USDA mark of inspection.They were sold to distribution facilities across the US.
The following brands of meat and poultry products are subject to the recall-Cupino;Mama Isabella;Buona Vita;Vincent Giordano;Dirusso's;Silver Lake;Argenta Pride;Whitsons Food Service;M&R Frosted Food;Orefresco;Bullpen;Napoli;Whorle's;Buonamic;Whorle's;and Monabella.
This recall has been classified as Class I,which indicates a high health risk.
The problem was identified through microbiological testing by FSIS and the Ohio Department of Agriculture(ODA).FSIS,ODA,and the company have not received reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products.
