SolidRun Ltd, continues its innovate streak in the electronics and computer world with the launch announcement of their new and powerful addition to the CuBox-i series: the CuBox-i2w. The CuBox-i fanless computers are based on Freescale's i.MX6 SoC series and offer a wide variety of configurations ranging from single, dual and quad ARM processors running up to 1.2GHz
Today, digital signage displays are commonly controlled by personal computers or servers. The CuBox-i2w solution takes digital signage solutions into the 21st century by integrating dual core computing power with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as additional features such as extensive connectivity, a Real Time Clock mechanism, and more. The elegant mini-computer consists of a unique 2x2x2 inch design, has a miniscule carbon footprint, and is ideal for a variety of uses. Starting at just $99, the CuBox-i2w includes the mandatory requirements of most digital signage applications at a significantly lower price point than the majority of existing solutions on the market.
With Android becoming a more dominant operating system for digital signage applications, the CuBox-i series places a special emphasis on supporting the flourishing Android OS with its rich eco system. The CuBox-i platform core technology is based on SolidRun's state-of-the-art Micro System on a Module (MicroSOM) designed for the most reliable performance at low-power states.
"We believe that there is a growing need in the digital signage market for disruptive smart nodes technology in terms of size, power and cost. The CuBox-i offering is half the cost of existing industry-standard solutions, without any compromises on streaming and reliability capabilities," said Kossay Omary, SolidRun CEO.
