Delta chairman announces retirement Julian Ho,Taipei;Jackie Chang,DIGITIMES[Wednesday 20 June 2012]Delta Electronics chairman Bruce CH Cheng announced his official retirement in the company's shareholders meeting on June 19.Delta plans to hold the board of directors meeting on June 28 to elect a new chairman.
Cheng indicated that Taiwan's IT industry must address the problem of losing professionals.
Delta has been an important player in promoting environmental measures by providing energy-saving technologies such as green buildings,LED lighting,and integrated solar PV solutions,he said.
Cheng emphasized that Taiwan's IT industry should be more open and pay more attention to core competences such as R&D strengths.In addition,Taiwan has been losing professionals,said Cheng.Finding and hiring knowledgeable professionals is necessary,added Cheng.
Delta reported 2011 consolidated revenues of NT$172.056 billion(US$5.76 billion)with net profits of NT$10.991 billion.For 2011 dividends,Delta will deal out NT$3.5 in cash per share.
