Game Inventor Gil Hova Smashed Initial Goal of $8,000 in One Month

Game inventor Gil Hova smashed initial goal of $8,000 in one month.

A card game that puts players in control of drugs companies with awful side effects has smashed its Kickstarter goal with over $30,000 in funding.

Billed by its creators as a raucous party game for quick thinking storytellers, Bad Medicine challenges players to create names and adverts for new drugs, while downplaying side effects, such as ‘projectile earwax.’

‘Involuntary screaming’ and ‘tongue grows out of left knee’ also feature among various undesirable side effects.

Game inventor Gil Hova took to the crowdfunding site last month in a bid to raise $8,000 to take the game to the next stage of development.

However, with more than 1,000 supporters, the project smashed its initial goal to raise a total of $30,130.

“Thanks to the generosity of over 1,000 backers, we raised over $30,000 and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in my game,” said Hova via the project’s Kickstarter page.

Hova now estimates that the game will be ready for shipping by September this year.
