The upcoming HTC One M9 flagship – now codenamed ‘Hima’ – has seen a sudden influx of leaks to the web, and today is no different.
A display panel purportedly destined to join a HTC One M9 chassis has emerged online, giving us some clues as to the design of the next handset.
For starters, the display reportedly measures up at 5.2-inches corner-to-corner, which is a slight leap over the 5-inch screen touted by HTC’s One M8.
The source of the images did say it was ‘not able to ensure’ reliability in reference to the leaked display shots, but it’s worth consideration.
What’s particularly striking about the panel is the thickness of the bezels, which seem slightly wider than what you’d expect from a modern day flagship blower.
Of course, this could still be a prototype panel and may not be representative of the final product we’ll see hit shelves next year.
Just last week we saw a raft of information leaked to the net courtesy of @upleaks, revealing the new ‘Hima’ moniker and a partial spec sheet.
According to the prolific Twitter-based tipster, HTC will be dropping the ‘One M9’ tag altogether in the wake of its newer, more exotic branding – ‘Hima’ is Sanskrit for ‘snow’, apparently.
HTC’s next smartphone innards were alleged to go something like this: a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Also tipped were a revamped Sense 7.0 UI – no surprises there – and Cat 6 LTE connectivity.
Whatever the case, it’s expected we’ll know by mid- to late-March – that’s Mobile World Congress season to me and you.
