Turkish integrated steelmaker Erdemir has announced that production has been halted at its Iskenderun-based subsidiary Isdemir, subsequent to the implementation of a strike decision as of July 15 after talks between Isdemir and the Turkish labor union elik-on a collective labor agreement were unsuccessful.
Isdemir's port facilities which are mandatorily open are operating at 85 percent of capacity, its energy plants are working at 25 percent capacity, while its coke-making facilities are using the two thirds of their production capacity.
No lockout decision has been made by Isdemir management as of July 23.
