Socius Insurance Services, a San Francisco-based management liability and property & casualty insurance wholesaler, has appointed Matt Dross as the new vice president, property & casualty practice.
Dross will oversee the business from Tampa, Florida, according to the insurer.
Prior to accepting the current role, Dross has been working as an account executive and a broker in the St. Petersburg area for more than ten years, servicing the Southeastern US.
Having expertise in the placement of transactional middle market property accounts, he will work to boost the firm's property & casualty business in the Southeast.
Commenting on the appointment of Dross, Socius senior vice president Derick Stitik said, "This is the first of a series of hires that will bolster our P&C practice."
Socius president Patrick Hanley commented, "This addition compliments our already thriving Management and Professional Liability practice in the region."
Set up in 1997, Socius Insurance Services operates through its regional offices in Los Angeles, California; Elgin, Illinois; Birmingham, Alabama; and Tampa and Miami, Florida, and currently has nearly 50 staff.
