Intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions provider in the US, Adept Technology has introduced the new robotic packaging automation cell Adept ClamPAC, which gently packs clamshells into cases at high speeds.
ClamPAC has been designed to reduce the total cost of ownership by delivering a fully-integrated solution that can be dropped into any line. It provides the flexibility, dexterity and speed of a robotic solution and reduces the food processor's integration complexity and deployment time.
Prior to delivery, the company makes customer-specific modifications based on the size and design of the clamshells, the case sizes and the speed of the line, which makes it cost effective for customers to deploy a robotic solution for case packing clamshells.
Key to the design of ClamPAC solutions are the new SoftPIC grippers and graspers which are selected by Adept specifically for each customer's range of products.
The grippers are made of soft silicone that conforms to the shape of the clamshell and provide a direct vacuum path to the product, helping the system achieve gentle handling and reliable operation at good speeds. They can be changed in a short span of time for lines that package multiple clamshell sizes and/or designs.
