According to manufacturers, business activity on the German markets for DINplus and ENplus pellets has been developing with a little more élan again in the last four weeks. The reason for this is considered to be a comparatively brisk retail business. The fuel trade has also been showing noticeably greater interest in short-term contracts for significant volumes of pellets since some manufacturers announced price increases for July and August. The outflow of pellets from stocks built up by manufacturers in the second quarter has thus been relatively quick in recent weeks. An ongoing build-up of stocks by the fuel trade for the coming heating period in particular had caused pellet manufacturer's relatively high stocks of finished pellets to run down quite substantially by the middle of July.
