Harvard Engineering has won a contract to install its LeafNut wireless monitoring and control system for street and outdoor lighting in the largest planned new town in Scotland.
LeafNut will be installed in Chapelton, an 8,000-home town with a focus on sustainable community living five miles south of Aberdeen. The solution will allow street lights in the town to be remotely monitored and dimmed.
Lord Southesk, director of Elsick Development Company (EDC), the developer of the town, said: “Our aim is to provide positive assets for a truly sustainable, modern community and this programme is a simple yet hugely beneficial way to reduce carbon emissions as well as reduce costs. The LeafNut wireless control solution will provide better controlled lighting to those living and working in Chapelton and be a great benefit to the town.”
Russell Fletcher, sales and marketing director at Harvard Engineering, said: “The new Chapelton town development in Scotland is a really exciting sustainable project and the choice of LeafNut further emphasises its credentials as an energy saving, cost reducing solution.”
The company says the LeafNut system has now been installed across more than 330,000 street lights in over 100 locations across the globe.
