Allianz Global Assistance, a US travel insurance and assistance provider, has rolled out a new portfolio of Travel Insurance core retail plans marketed by travel agents.
The company's 'Classic Plan' is now a suite of plans that comprises optional additional coverage to better fit the needs of travelers.
The company is also planning to launch an inexpensive 'Essential Plan' for travelers who do not need post departure benefits, including medical and baggage protection.
Designed for people who need some cancellation coverage and existing medical conditions coverage, the new Essential plan provides an affordable insurance option for agents who sell domestic air trips to their clients who already have health insurance.
Allianz Global Assistance USA retail channel management director Brad Gray said the company pays attention to trends in leisure travel and is continually innovating to meet the changing needs of today's traveler.
"This new portfolio provides travel agents with the simplest and most competitive line of products that we have ever offered," Gray added.
The new core retail lineup comprises Essential, Basic, Classic (base plan), Classic with optional Required to Work enhancement, Classic with Trip+, Classic with Cancel Anytime plans.
Allianz Global Assistance USA operates as a consumer specialty insurance and assistance company and insures 13 million customers annually.
