February average retail pricing for 7W LED light bulbs (equivalent to 40W incandescent ones) in the China market slipped 18.8% sequentially to CNY38.1 (US$6.2), and 9W ones (equivalent to 60W incandescent) dropped 18.1% to CNY45.3, according to Digitimes Research.
Average retail prices for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in the Japan market in February stood at JPY1,633 (US$16) and JPY2,447 respectively, the former remaining unchanged and the latter slipping 1.1% on month, Digitimes Research indicated.
February average retail pricing for 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs in other markets are: KRW14,540 (US$13.6, up 1.3% on month) and KRW16,169 (up 0.8%) in South Korea; US$20.10 (down 2.4%) and US$22.30 (up 1.4%) in the US; EUR13.80 (US$19, up 0.7%) and EUR17.50 (flat) in Europe.
Osram 40W- and 60W-equivalent LED light bulbs available in South Korea had the highest average lumen-price ratios of 69.9lm/US$ and 113.6lm/US$ respectively in February. In terms of luminous efficiency, Cree 40W-equivalent models for the US market and Toshiba 60W-equivalent models available in Japan had the highest average levels of 75.0lm/W and 96.5lm/W respectively.
