Vastra 2012, an international textile and apparel fair that aims to provide Indian manufacturers a global platform for business promotion, is going to be held from November 22 to 25 in the royal Indian city of Jaipur.
The comprehensive trade fair and conference on textiles and apparel will showcase the best and latest in textiles from fibre to fashion - be it technology or the products.
The fair is expected to cover a wide variety of products ranging from casual and formal fashion wear for women, men and kids, home textiles and furnishings, textile-based handicrafts, floor covering, traditional textiles, textile technology and machinery.
The fair will provide opportunities for launching new products, exploring avenues for new business relations, JVs, strategic alliances and partnerships worldwide as also new locations for setting up businesses in India.
The exhibition will be attended by a range of fabric and garment buyers from nearly 106 countries. The organizers of the fair have already received confirmation from buyers of 58 countries about their visit to the fair.
Over 500 local companies will put up stalls to exhibit their products along with other country pavilions, at the event.
Four Indian states – Kerala, Gujarat, Haryana and Jharkhand have also expressed their willingness to participate in the fair.
Vastra 2012 is supported by the Indian Ministry of Textiles and is jointly organized by the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
