A small Taiwanese-owned toy firm based in Thailand hopes to launch its products in the UK.
Kiddy Kiddo specialises in manufacturing educational board games and books, with several products aimed at pre-schoolers. It has been operating in the Asian market since 2009 and now feels the time is right to target the West with the help of a distributor.
“Our games offer a ‘back to basics’ playing and learning message. They are aimed at getting families and children at the table playing and learning, whilst interacting with others,” said Jai Guinness, marketing director for Kiddy Kiddo.
“We are trying to get people away from the sitting at a computer alone syndrome. We do not produce any dice games as we feel this is not what the market/customers want; all our games are played using cards in various ways.
“We have now attended a few Western toy fairs and feel the time is right to try and break into the western market.”
One of Kiddy Kiddo’s products targeted at pre-school children is My First Words, a series of books that help children develop their vocabularies. They feature pop-out cards which can be used for puzzles, matching activities, memory games and more.
