Magna E-Car Systems Has Opened a New Plant in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, US

Magna E-Car Systems has opened a new plant in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, US, that will make components for hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs).

The new 66,000sq ft plant has 95 employees who will make electric motors, inverters and electronic powertrain controllers for the Ford Focus Electric, inverters for the Fisker Karma and assorted components for other global customers.

Including the new facility, the company has four facilities in North America and two in Europe working on several programs for some of the automakers worldwide.

The company which is a joint venture between Magna International and the Stronach Trust employes about 700 people at its four facilities.

Magna E-Car Systems chief operating officer Kevin Pavlov said the company has a team that is second to none, a dedicated and highly skilled workforce, and it has a simple mission to support its customers and help protect the environment through green technologies.
