Farm to Feet has signed on as the official sock of the Cayuga Trails 50 (CT50), presented by Farm to Feet's retail partner the Finger Lakes Running Company. The second running of the 50-mile trail running race in Ithaca, NY, is scheduled for June 1, and will serve as host of the 2014 United States Track and Field (USATF) 50 Mile Trail National Championship.
"We're proud to sponsor with the Cayuga Trails 50 while supporting one of our great retail partners," said David Petri, Marketing VP of Farm to Feet. "The CT50 is a great fit for Farm to Feet and our 100% American socks, not only is the homegrown event one of the premier races in the country, but they give the all-American treat of apple pie as in-race prize,"
Each participant of the CT50 will receive a pair of Farm to Feet Greensboro multi-sport socks with their registration packet. The Greensboro was recently featured in Outside Magazine's Summer 2014 Buyer's Guide and as one of the "best new gear for spring" in Runner's World.
The overall male and female race winners will be awarded a new sock drawer containing a dozen pairs of various styles of Farm to Feet socks. Additionally, ten $100 gift cards will be awarded to participants throughout the event.
"It's great to have sponsors whose products you use and believe in," said Ian Golden, Cayuga Trails 50 race director. "I wore a pair of Farm to Feet socks for a full week straight, including a wet 50k trail race, and the entire time they were comfortable, wicked and dried quickly, remained soft and showed no wear."
The Cayuga Trails 50 has quickly become one of the nation's premiere long distance trail races. Its $10,000 cash purse, challenging course, and beautiful views of the Finger Lakes among multiple waterfalls has attracted some of the nations top distance trail runners.
