The Export Price Index (IPRIX) in Spain showed a decline of 0.5 percent year-on-year in the textile sector in July 2013, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
This is the second consecutive monthly fall in export prices, after a long period of price increases that saw textile exports becoming 7.5 percent more expensive in a year.
The decline in textile export prices was, however, lower than the 2.3 percent year-on-year decline in general export prices on the Index.
The garment sector showed a 0.4 percent year-on-year increase in prices during July 2013.
The import price index (IPRIM) for July 2013 saw textile industry prices rising by 0.1 percent year-on-year, while the price of imported garments fell 1.2 percent year-on-year.
