Baltic Industrial Planing Works Are Registering Satisfactory Levels

Baltic industrial planing works are currently registering satisfactory levels of demand on the relevant East Asian sales markets. Substantial volumes have been sold to Japan and South Korea recently. An overhang even exists in demand in South Korea because shippers’ delivery capability is limited due to a short supply of planeable spruce lumber. Suppliers also report enquiries from Chinese importers, though no concrete contracts have been concluded yet. Market players are expecting demand from East Asia to continue to rise in the weeks ahead. US importers have also been enquiring about deliveries of planed products again for quite a number of weeks now, though no contracts have materialised here either yet.
