FIMAST, The Textile Exhibition for the Hosiery and Stocking Industry, came to an end on Saturday, September 29 at Fiera di Brescia with 3,000 registered trade visitors. 40% came from 67 countries with a 20% increase over the 2009 Edition. FIMAST has proven to be one of the most international Shows in Europe.
The feedback coming from trade members and specialized meetings held during the event confirms that the sector is undergoing major transformations.
The products are more "impulse buys" and three major lines can be identified: a punk/arabesque line for a client with a very affirmative look; a graphic and evocative line for a client trying to make a statement and a feminine/effervescent line for a client with a more traditional and seductive approach. These trends make it very clear that a link between machines/technology and production is a key factor in this segment of the industry. The Show in Brescia has made a point of that.
The suggestions coming from the Area "Innovation & trends" are all along these lines. The Area hosted the most famous brands in the world with their technological and stylistic news in the hosiery, stocking, underwear and seamless garment industries.
According to the President of the Organizational Committee, Mr Gianfranco Colosio: "The numbers of the show were extremely good". The high numbers of international visitors confirms that FIMAST owns the leadership in this field and that trade members really need a highly specialized venue".
