Driving performance applications provider SmartDrive Systems has upgraded its SmartDrive Safety and Fuel applications with new enhancements.
The new upgraded driving performance improvement applications are claimed to reduce collisions, increases fuel efficiency and support the company's momentum in vehicle deployments of over 10,000 public transit vehicles across US.
The new enhancement, which are introduced at American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) annual meeting, include: SmartDrive Mobile, enhanced Trip Mapping and Crash Triggered Events.
SmartDrive Mobile offers real-time access for drivers to individual vehicle and driver performance data for self-assessment and peer-to-peer competitive standings.
Enhanced Trip Mapping includes throttle, brake, RPM, and engine load information as well as excessive idling, idling with Power Take Off, trip stops, and location relative to customer-defined geo-fences.
Crash Triggered Events sensors that report crash data up to 96G's to provide fleets with the proof of driver exoneration and immediate response to insurance claims processing.
Veolia Transportation COO Ken Westbrook said the SmartDrive driving improvement platform gives the company a clear picture of how its vehicles are being driven and where to focus to improve fuel efficiency.
"The new enhancements in particular help our fleet managers and drivers to see detailed driving patterns and their impact on fuel economy," Westbrook said.
