AMIA announced recently, because the export business from Mexico to Europe and USA was cooling, Mexican car production only grew 1.6% year on year.
In February this year, Mexican car production was 246,197, up 1.6% compared to 242,317 of the same period last year. In the first 2 months, car cumulative production reached 489,051, grew 9.9% year on year compared to 445,018 of the same period last year.
In January, Mexican car export quantity grew 14.2% year on year, while export quantity in February declined 11.3% compared to the same period last year, down to 175,338, in which the car export quantity of the key market USA declined 5.3% year on year to 116,693.
In the first 2 months, the cumulative export quantity reached 353,900, with the same level of last year, in which the export quantity for USA was totally 245,654, up 11% year on year.
In February, Mexico domestic car sales reached 80,193, up 7.3% year on year. In the first 2 months, the total domestic car sales were 164,462, up 9.6% compared to 150,000 of the same period last year.
