Packaging film materials supplier Total has unveiled the new Supertough 22ST05 grade for the industrial film sector.
Lumicene Supertough family of metallocene polyethylene is said to cater to the industry requirement for easy to process, downgauging solutions for the industrial, hygiene as well as food film sectors.
Supertough 22ST05 is a combination of bubble stability, mechanical properties and has the potential to downgauge by up to 25%.
The grade also opens development perspectives for wide width films, which are suitable for agriculture as well as transportation and protection applications.
Total Flexible Packaging & Personal Care business manager Sonia De Greef said the company can generate value for both its customers and consumers right through the value chain by boosting product properties.
"It is reassuring for our customers in the packaging and the industrial film sector to know that we continue to find ways for them to improve the performance of their product in a cost sensitive way," Greef added.
The new grade allows converters to combine one layer of Supertough with the standard of prime materials.
