RPC Cobelplast has supplied its multilayer sheet to Sweden-based Cefour Wine & Beverage for its new ‘Easy Wine Glass’ ready-to-drink solution.
According to RPC, Easy Wine Glass offers Merlot, Rosé Syrah and Chardonnay wines in pre-filled and sealed plastic wine glasses.
The 18.75cl size is said to offer the convenience of accurate portion control each time and no waste. Two designs including the traditional wine glass and a stemless version are offered.
Claimed to be fully recyclable after use, the glasses are formed, filled and sealed using transparent PP/EVOH/PP sheet provided by RPC Cobelplast on an Alfa machine.
The EVOH barrier layer prevents oxygen ingress to help preserve the wine's freshness as well as quality for up to ten months.
Cefour Wine & Beverage general manager Mikael Bergholts said, "Our Easy Wine Glass pre-filled concept considerably simplifies the handling of wine, eliminates spoilage and increases security when serving."
