APLF’s Fashion Access 2014 celebrates its 30th anniversary in the service of the Global Fashion Industry with a special programme of shows and presentations with the theme – ‘Leather, Past, Present and Future’. The fair is to be held from 31st March to 2nd April 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
After three decades, APLF’s Fashion Access still leads the field by continuously re-inventing itself in response to ever-changing industry needs. The fair has gone from strength to strength since its first launch and is must attend international fair for buyers that demand a wide choice of quality finished goods - from bags, footwear, leather garments, fashion accessories to travelware. Fashion Access 2014 will host 470+ exhibitors, representing 25 different countries and regions.
An exciting programme of seminars, presentations and special attractions have been organised for this year’s fair. Greer Hughes, Trend Specialist at WGSN Group kicks off the programme with “Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Forecast and Accessories Trends”, a preview of the leading and most influential trends for the upcoming season.
Another exciting presentation on fashion trends will be made by Mary Yan Yan, Founder & Director of StyleCENTRAL. Mary will present “Peclers Paris' Fall-Winter 15-16 Lifestyle & Fashion Product Development Directions for Ready-To-Wear & Accessories”, where she will discuss future trends on colours, materials, patterns, styling, silhouettes and much more.
3D Printing is one of the most exciting emergent technologies today and may enable a step-change for manufacturers and brand owners. Stanley Leung, Pre-Sales & Application Engineer of Stratasys will present “3D Printing Opens New Horizons – Transforming Design Landscapes Beyond Traditionals Limits”. This is part of APLF’s on-going efforts to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry.
Design-A-Bag Competition is an online competition open to designers and design students all over the world. Participants submit their designs via an online platform; their work is then judged by a panel of Senior Design Professionals based on the criteria of originality, Fashion trend awareness and wearability & marketability. Many exciting and innovative designs have been received for this year’s competition and the final winners will be announced at Fashion Access’ Design-A-Bag Award Presentation.
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) will be exhibiting at this year’s Fashion Access with a special theme “Made in USA”. Featured companies are Collared Greens, a classic American lifestyle brand for men and Anna Bags, a luxury leatherhandbag brand that insists that all its products be individually hand made in the USA.
Continuing the momentum from previous years’ successes, other popular attractions such as Dress Up! Fashion Presentations, Design Zone, Fashion Trends Space and Fashion Avenue will also be illustrating the latest designs and trends at this year’s fair.
