The Professional Clothing Awards team is proud to announce that its prestigious 2014 Awards event, which celebrates achievement in the workwear, corporate wear and PPE industry, will be hosted by Ruth Morris, uniform manager for the Rugby World Cup 2015 and manager of the uniform programme for the hugely successful 2012 London Olympics.

Ruth will be responsible for kitting out more than 6,000 people who are supporting the landmark Rugby World Cup 2015, the third-largest sporting event in the world, in which 20 international teams will travel to England to compete for rugby’s highest honour/

The Professional Clothing Awards will take place during the industry’s most celebrated show, the Professional Clothing Show, which runs from 1-2 April 2014, with the winners receiving the coveted Awards at an opulent gala dinner and dance at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, NEC, on 1 April.

At the heart of the Professional Clothing Show will be ‘Pro Show Live’ – a live fashion show, during which the London 2012 Game Makers’ uniforms will be modelled live on the catwalk, allowing visitors a close-up view of the now famous Olympic outfits.

John Miln, CEO of the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), who will be speaking and presenting awards at the Professional Clothing Awards, said: “The professional clothing industry is a very significant business, bringing in over £450m a year to the UK economy and driving very significant benefits to employment.

“The size of the industry demands that the people who are involved in it celebrate their contribution towards it, so the Awards, together with the associated trade fair that runs at the same time, are a very good way to celebrate this. The UKFT both supports and applauds this initiative.

“The Awards are important for building the profiles of both individual companies and those that are fortunate enough to be chosen, and give them the recognition they deserve. The fact that that they are considered to be one of the best in their industry gives an immense amount of satisfaction and pride to both companies and their employees.”
