Bob Dunlap served as lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1951-53. Upon leaving the Navy, he transformed an old junkyard on his father's property where he sold used tires off junk cars into one of Mississippi's largest and most successful companies. The company now operates Dunlap & Kyle Co., Hesselbein Tire Co. and Gateway Tire Co. and has a total of 56 stores in 7 states.
Dunlap currently serves as president and CEO of Dunlap & Kyle. Over the years, Dunlap served on numerous dealer councils and was a founding member of the TBC Corp.

In 2003, Johnson was named as chairman of TIA's first state association committee. As chair of this committee, he worked with the executive directors of the state and regional dealer associations to improve relations with TIA and to develop ways in which TIA and the state groups could work together for the industry's benefit.
Prior to becoming ATD's chairman and CEO in 2003, he served as the company president since 2001. Before that time, Johnson led Heafner Tire Group's Southeast Division as president.
