According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s imports of stainless coils totaled 41,936 tons in June, decreasing by 14% from a month ago.
The country’s import values generated by stainless coils were at US$96.7 million, falling by 17.5% from May.
It’s analyzed that the declined imports were caused by lower demand in June.
Also, Turkey’s stainless coil import might continue falling in the coming months after Posco Assan TST started its commercial production on July 1st.
In the first half of this year, Turkey’s stainless coil imports totaled 225,875 tons, decreasing by 19.5% year on year. The import revenues were at US$550 million, increasing by 10.5% from a year ago.
