It’s now less than one week to go until the 2013 Lighting Design Awards and the team at Lighting have been busy preparing for the event. The comic is booked, the trophies have been made and, at the time of writing, 740 attendees had reserved their seats for the number one awards event in the lighting calendar.
Ben Cronin, editor of Lighting, said he was looking forward to seeing the industry out in force and suggested there might be some surprises on the night: “I’m really excited about what we’ve got planned this year,” he said. “The industry expects us to put on a good show and we hope we won’t disappoint. I’m also looking forward to seeing some new faces; it’s really pleasing to see more entries and table bookings by new lighting designers and architectural practices this year.”
Once again, attendees will be able to tweet on a Live Twitter wall, which will be sponsored for the first time this year by @iGuzziniUK. Don’t forget to use the #LDA2013 hashtag when tweeting about the event - the best tweets from the night will be published in the May issue of Lighting.
This year will also see the return of Solar Aid as a charity partner. The charity is sponsoring the casino to raise money for solar lighting schemes in off-grid areas of Africa.
