Spreadshirt, the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform has announced an agreement with Seven Towns Ltd, owner of worldwide rights to the Rubik’s Brand including the registered trademarks pertaining to the Rubik’s Cube to produce a range of iconic clothing.
The Rubik's Cube has been puzzling the world since the 1980s. More than just a toy Rubik’s has inspired everything from fashion, art and culture to particle physics! In 2007 the Rubik's Cube beat stiff competition to be recognised in the annual CoolBrands list by the Superbrands organisation.
The range of clothing is now available for sale through the Spreadshirt marketplace, where devoted fans and traditional t-shirt lovers can get their official merchandise and have the opportunity to buy the popular Rubik’s Cube image in the design, colour, style and size of their choosing.
“We chose Spreadshirt because of their reputation, vast product range and the partners they already work with”, says Mike Townend at Seven Towns. “Spreadshirt’s offering is much more effective for license holders. With their technology we have been able to set up an online print-on-demand shop with great ease.
“In addition, payments and returns are managed by Spreadshirt. The platform means we can offer fans access to a huge database of designs, with no upfront costs for anyone”.
Philip Rooke, CEO at Spreadshirt states “I am delighted to be working with Seven Towns on for the Rubik’s Cube I have had one of these since I was 11 and I still cannot do it. They are an iconic license that customers identify with and love.
“Now like many licensors, they have realised that Spreadshirt can offer a whole new range of merchandising opportunities. Merchandising can be as complex as their puzzles but Spreadshirt is able to make it simple for them.”
