Velcro Industries has partnered with Hill's Pet Nutrition to integrate PRESS-LOK closure technology into Hill's pet food packaging created by Canada-based PEEL Plastics Products.
Hill's US marketing director Christopher Rector said the closure system provides tangible consumer benefits to Hill's Science Diet packaging.
"The PRESS-LOK application provides a fast, effective and stress-free bag closure solution. PRESS-LOK closure opens and closes easily and quickly, keeping the kibble in and the paws out," Rector said.
The PRESS-LOK closure contains an easy alignment that allows the hooks to engage without line-up, securing closure with better burst strength to maintain the integrity of the package. It is also simple to open and close.
Velcro's closure, which is a hook to hook technology that can work for a various packaging closure scenarios, has an audible click and allows consumers to hear their pet food packages open and close.
