Russia Registered 2.8 Percent Decrease in Rolled Steel Product Output to 4.4 Million Mt

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in January of the current year Russia registered a 2.8 percent decrease in its rolled steel product output to 4.4 million mt, a 5.8 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 5.7 million mt and a 0.1 percent rise in its pig iron production to 4.3 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a 3.2 percent rise year on year in its steel pipe production to 744,000 mt.

In addition, in January Russia produced 28 million mt of coal, down 2.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
