International Paper (IP) is all set to invest in its Kwidzyn mill in Poland in a bid to improve its product quality and service platform for the folding boxboard market.
According to the packaging and paper company, the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2014.
IP's investment follows the recent introduction of services such as express sheeting at the Kwidzyn mill and the expansion of its product offering for EMEA.
The product offering include consumer boxboard products produced at other company mills, supplementing Kwidzyn's Alaska and Arktika brands.
IP European Papers business vice president & general manager Eric Chartrain said the Kwidzyn facility investment is an opportunity to further bolster the company's position in consumer packaging.
"Customer requirements for quality and service continue to grow and this project is another initiative in our ongoing effort to provide superior value to our customers," Chartrain said.
