52 Firms Showcased Their Products at International Garment Fairs in France: UTIB

The Turkish apparel and textile sector was represented by 52 firms who showcased their products at the recently held international garment fairs in France, said Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB) chairman Ibrahim Burkay.

According to a statement issued by UTIB, Mr. Burkay said 52 apparel and textile firms represented the Turkish textiles sector at the ‘Denim by Premiere Vision’ and ‘Tissu Premiere’ fairs held in Paris, which is considered as the fashion capital of France.

Attending such prestigious trade fairs and showcasing ‘Made in Turkey’ products, demonstrates the strength of the Turkish textile sector, which is developing by leaps and bounds, he added.

According to the UTIB official, participation in international trade fairs brings recognition to apparel and textile products manufactured in the country, and results into increase in demand for these products, which facilitate exports.

Firms attending the fair can benefit from the opportunity of exchanging contacts with international enterprises operating in the textile and apparel sector, and establish trade relations, he added.

Mr. Burkay said that European fairs, especially these two fairs in France, are very prestigious for the apparel sector, as leading manufacturers from the apparel industry of the world participate in these fairs and Turkish firms can increase their competitiveness from participating in these trade events.

25 apparel firms participated in the Tissu Premiere fair in Paris, an international fabrics and apparel supplies trade fair held bi-anually in Paris, and 27 garment firms participated at the Denim by Premiere Vision fair, a trade show that brings together all the leading manufacturers of denim under one roof to showcase the latest products in denim.
