Optical oxygen sensor systems provider OxySense has introduced the new BottlePerm Fixture, which allows bottle, cork, cap and closure, as well as plastic cup manufacturers to run permeation/oxygen transmission rate (OTR) measurements.
The new fixture, an addition to the company's range of permeation/OTR accessories, has been designed to aid the determination of OTR of a bottle by providing a platform on which to easily seal and purge a bottle of all oxygen.
Permeation/OTR is determined through the embedded OxyDot (O2xyDot) and the OxySense 5250i OTR software package, once purged.
Analysis for containers such as yogurt cups, as well as closure evaluation of wine bottle corks and screw caps can also be done using the fixture.
OxySense president and CEO Ken Culver said the addition will serve as a valuable tool for bottle, cup and other packaging manufactures.
"We've introduced the BottlePerm Fixture because we believe that we have an obligation to continually find practical and economical application solutions for our customers and for the markets that we serve," Culver added.
OxySense provides optical oxygen sensor systems for the packaging, packing and processing industries.
