Mocon Unveils New Oxygen Transmission Rate Testing System for Ultra-High Barrier Applications

Permeation instruments manufacture Mocon has introduced a new oxygen transmission rate testing system for ultra-high barrier film and packages applications.

The new OX-TRAN 2/22 10X system, which will be added to the OX-TRAN 2/22 H and 2/22 L systems, is designed to meet the demand for increased testing sensitivity.

The OX-TRAN 2/22 L and 2/22 H systems are designed to allow food, pharmaceutical, medical device companies, film converters, resin and chemical converters to test O2 barriers and require fast accurate results.

Mocon sales and service permeation testing systems head Andreas Roos said: "Products such as OLED or solar and similar demanding applications require an increasingly better oxygen barrier.

"With the new OX-TRAN 2/22 10X MOCON provides a system to measure these ultra-oxygen transmission characteristics of film and packages."

Additionally, the new system is also designed to accurately and repeatably measure barriers to 5x10-4 cm3/(m2 x day) at precise temperature and relative humidity conditions.

In 2014, Mocon has launched fully-automated water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) testing system for packaging and other barrier structures.

Mocon offers comprehensive range of instruments and testing services for the test, measurement and analysis of films and packages.

The firm is engaged in distribution and service of test systems for the packaging, pharmaceutical and food industries.

The company's product portfolio includes the Mocon permeation measurement systems for oxygen, water vapor and CO2 and Mocon Package Test Systems.
