The Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 update has started to filter out across Europe, with handsets in Spain on the receiving end of the Lollipop-themed patch.

While UK S5 owners are still waiting for the Android 5.0 update, SamMobile has reported network-unlocked devices in Spain have started to receive the substantial over-the-air update.

Spanish users join S5 owners in Samsung’s native South Korea in being offered the Android Lollipop update.

Although Samsung has yet to share any official word on when UK S5 owners can expect the latest Android OS update, it has been suggested the download will be available during “the next couple of weeks”.

The Android 5.0 update brings a number of design and performance improvements to the S5, including significant battery enhancements and Google’s new material interface.

Further Android 5.0 improvements include 64-bit processor support, guest mode features and Gmail enhancements.
