Japanese carmaker Nissan has recalled the Dualis models (Qashqai) due to a problem with the steering and the X-Trail model because of a potential fire risk in Australia.
The recall affects 3,000 units of the Nissan Dualis, or Nissan Qashqai and 8,136 units of the T31 Nissan X-Trail models.
The affected Dualis models have been produced between February 2012 and March 2012 while the affected X-Trail vehicles have been built between the period of December 2007 and April 2012.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said that a fault with the Dualis models steering wheel boss could potentially result in a loss of steering in the crossovers and X-Trail's lower front bulkhead insulator may suffer from warping resulting in insufficient clearance to the turbocharger.
Earlier in October 2012, Nissan had recalled its 2012-2013 Altima sedans in the US due to a problem with bolts.
