A fresh range of card games that work using iPad and smartphone apps are about to hit toy retail.
AppCards, the new range from Jumbo Games, consists of three multiplayer titles: Colour Slam, Sound Bingo and PimPamPet.
Each will retail for £9.99, like some of the products in Jumbo's existing iPieces range, which communicate with the Apple iPad tablet device.
AppCards launch in early 2013. They allow families to play card games on their Android or iOS smartphones and tablets using a free downloadable app.
Each game boasts 'stunning visual animations and entertaining sound effects'.
Katherine Pierce, Marketing Manager of Jumbo Games, said: “After the fantastic response we received for iPieces on the iPad, it was important for Jumbo to take multiplayer games further so it’s fantastic that AppCards is available for smartphones and tablets, supporting both Android and Apple devices.
"We are very happy with the AppCards range and hope that families across the UK will enjoy these innovative playing experiences together as much as we enjoyed creating them."
Colour Slam sees players trying to be the first to match up colour combinations on their cards and those displayed on the app. It's for two to four players aged over eight.
For younger players aged over four, Sound Bingo challenges players to match all of their AppCards to a wide variety of sound effects and animations.
PimPamPet is a fast action question and answer game for those over eight years old.
