Packaging machinery company Pro Mach has expanded its labeling and coding business with the acquisition of Greydon for an undisclosed amount.
Based in Pennsylvania, Greydon manufactures inline printing and coding solutions for flexible packaging.
Greydon develops inline or retrofitted printing and coding solutions for form fill and seal machines for medical device, pharmaceutical, and food packagers. Its solutions include standard and custom products across a full range of print technology.
Its new Genesis digital ink printing solution produces high definition output on materials, including paper, Tyvek, and flexible webs using UV ink.
Genesis is claimed to print complete graphics and variable coding information that can be changed without difficulty for different products and applications.
Pro Mach president and CEO Mark Anderson said: "Greydon strengthens our ability to be one of the most comprehensive labeling and coding solution providers in the packaging industry.
"They add value to our flexible packaging solutions and provide opportunities to further develop our integrated system product offering."
Besides expanding labeling and coding product offering, Greydon's addition will complement Pro Mach's existing flexible packaging capabilities.
Pro Mach Labeling and Coding Group president Alan Shipman said: "We're excited about what Greydon brings to Pro Mach and the opportunity to support our customers with new, innovative solutions.
"Together, we have outstanding opportunities to expand our solutions in key markets and develop new products that complement our extensive ID Technology product line, as well other key product lines across Pro Mach."
Earlier this month, Matrix Packaging Machinery, a provider of vertical form-fill-seal equipment powered by Pro Mach, has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of new Inever MVC series at Pack Expo Las Vegas.
