Discus Analytics Receives New US Patent for Jointman Software Application

Clinical data services provider Discus Analytics has received a US patent for its JointMan software application from the US Patent Office.

The company's flagship product, JointMan supports best practices in rheumatologic care, diagnosis to treatment plan selection, physician reimbursement, and administrative simplification.

In addition, it can bridge the gap between electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems.

The software application allows rheumatologists to clinically follow patients with rheumatic disease through both standard and new measurements, as well as track biologic and disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy effectiveness through a point-and-click, color-coded scale model of the human body.

Discus Analytics chief medical and research officer Sergio Schwartzman said that the patent will allow the software to become the new standard of care for tracking patient outcomes and quality metrics in real time.

"JointMan allows rheumatologists to capture and trend joint counts at each visit while aggregating, analyzing and presenting data in a concise and actionable format," Schwartzman added.
