According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in May this year Ukrainian exports of pig iron increased by nine percent month on month to 173,200 mt. In the January-May period this year, exports of pig iron from Ukraine increased by 12.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, rising to 822,500 mt.
On the other hand, in the first five months of the current year Ukrainian imports of pig iron decreased by 65 percent year on year to 5,600 mt.
