Sekisui Alveo Has Presented Improved Alveobloc Naco III, Conductive Foam at FachPack 2012

Sekisui Alveo, manufacturer of polyolefin foams, has presented improved Alveobloc NACO III, conductive foam at FachPack 2012 in Nuremberg.

Alveobloc is made of laminated foam sheets and has a uniform closed-cell structure that absorbs impact or pressure from external sources.

It offers transport protection for components and products that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge, according to packagingeurope.com.

Sekisui Alveo responsible market segment manager Oliver Buerklin said the Alveobloc NACO III can be used to custom design safe and attractive cushioning inserts for sensitive electronic products as well as functional reusable packaging for use in industrial areas classified for explosion security.

"We are glad we can offer our customers a further improved material solution for this special packaging niche," Buerklin said.

The conductance of Alveobloc NACO III has been improved recently where the polyolefin foam discharges electrical current and charges that can be generated during manufacture or transport.

It is also suitable for use in explosion-prone manufacturing areas.
